Capella Singapore is on Sentosa Island – a small residential island linked to Singapore by bridge. The superbly grand Capella is set back from the beach on acres of lawn carefully landscaped to give the impression of being in the jungle. Relax at the hotel’s outdoor pool where peacocks roam (there are three levels of pools – one for adults only, and the other two for children, thus making the property equally suitable for honeymooners and families alike).

The Warehouse Hotel: Smoky Sexy

A relatively new comer to the Singapore hotel scene – but definitely one to check out. The Warehouse Hotel was built in 1895 along the Singapore River as part of the Straits of Malacca trade route. At that time, the area was a hotbed of secret societies, underground activity, and liquor distilleries. Today, while much of that history has disappeared, The Warehouse Hotel has been meticulously restored as a modern 37-room boutique hotel, focusing on heritage and local culture. Open as of January 2017, it delivers thoughtful hospitality with historically-detailed rooms, classic local dishes and craft cocktails in the vibrant neighbourhood of Robertson Quay.
