Bawah’s captivating atmosphere, reminiscent of a lost world, deeply influenced the architectural design approach. What’s more, its remote location was conducive to the resort infrastructure being constructed entirely by hand, without the use of heavy machinery. Fast-growing and sustainable bamboo was harvested in Java, prefabricated where appropriate, and then transported to Bawah for assembly.
Appropriately, the seclusion of this group of six islands alive with flora and fauna inspired a botanical expedition theme. Feel like an explorer as you discover unique ecosystems and connect with nature’s simple yet eternal pleasures.
Special attention was given to every aspect of the resort. From the intricately designed structures to the skilfully placed stones that pave the ground beneath your feet, every meticulous detail was executed by skilled local craftsmen.
