Bawah’s captivating atmosphere, reminiscent of a lost world, deeply influenced the design. The secluded islands and their rich flora and fauna served as inspiration for a botanical expedition theme, allowing guests to become explorers and connect with life’s simple pleasures. The remote location inspired the resort to be constructed entirely by hand without heavy machinery using fast-growing and sustainable bamboo, which was harvested in Java, prefabricated, and transported to Bawah for assembly.
