A seamless expedition

Bawah Reserve is situated in the Anambas archipelago, a remote Indonesian enclave in the western region of the South China Sea, closer to the country of Malaysia than the main Indonesian islands of Sumatra and Borneo.

Due to this location, the best way to reach Bawah is via our private seaplane. It flies 7 days per week from Hang Nadim Airport in Batam, Indonesia, which is easily accessed from Jakarta or Singapore. The flight time is approximately 75 minutes.

Guests travelling via Singapore will be escorted door to door making your journey to Bawah a seamless one.

Your journey TO BAWAH

Guests are chauffeured to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, Singapore, then accompanied by a Bawah host on a 30-minute ferry ride to Batam, Indonesia. From there, a 75-minute seaplane flight lands you in the resort’s lagoon.

Upon departure from Bawah, guests travel back to Singapore via the same route, seaplane then ferry,  arriving in Singapore. Once through immigration and customs, a private car will be waiting for them at the exit of the ferry terminal.

The transfer fee to Bawah from Singapore is $950 per person.

A private car service will pick guests up from their hotel or residence in Batam, Indonesia. Alternatively, guests can fly into Hang Nadim Airport (BTH) for direct seaplane transfer to Bawah.

Upon departure from Bawah, guests will be flown back to Hang Nadim Airport, offering the option of a return flight or drop-off at your accommodation.

Return transfer from Batam to Bawah is US$800, return per person.

The flight from Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, to Batam’s Hang Nadim Airport takes a little over an hour, with several direct flights daily. If coming from Bali, you will need to fly to Batam via Jakarta. Once you touch down in Batam, guests will be met as they disembark and escorted directly to our seaplane for the flight to Bawah.

We welcome guests who arrive on a private yacht. Note that reservations are required for mooring and there are size limitations within our lagoons.   Please contact our reservations team to discuss moorings.
